We’ve been hearing a lot lately about so-called “Power Breakfasts.” As far as we can tell, Power Breakfasts are meant to provide you with long-lasting energy so you can power through the rest of your day. (We kind of thought that had always been breakfast’s job, but we digress!)

Add Some Eggs
Studies show that people who eat protein-heavy breakfasts are less likely to overeat later in the day. Sausage is very high in protein, and eggs have six grams of protein each! Sausage and eggs are a classic combination because the fluffiness of eggs is so well-complemented by the richness of sausage. We love to pair our sausage and eggs with healthy veggies like peppers or spinach, and of course, we almost always add cheese! No, really! Our Sausage Tortilla Pie recipe is a well-balanced breakfast. We like to make it when we’re feeding a crowd because it’s very sharable. Our favorite ways to use avocado and breakfast sausage include making whole grain breakfast tacos, in a frittata, or even just a la carte. There’s really no wrong way to eat avocadoes and the best part is, kids usually love them!
Bring in a Bowl
Breakfast bowls are all the rage. You can put almost anything into a breakfast bowl, so we try to base ours with something relatively healthy like kale or quinoa. From there, we pile on anything we’ve got in the house, from grated cheese to fresh veggies to dried fruit. The most important part of our bowls is always the crumbled sausage. It provides all the protein we need to get us through the morning and in fact, all the way through lunch!
